Who are we?

G.W. Tatro Construction was founded by Gerald Tatro in 1956. His first purchase was a bulldozer used on a contract for the construction of a ski trail at Smugglers Notch Resort, Jeffersonville Vermont.

From those humble beginnings the company has continued to grow and expand, becoming a leader in both civil construction as well as the eastern ski industry.In 2007, the company was purchased by Gerald’s son Greg and his wife, Dawn. They both maintain an active role in the daily operation and financial management of the company.

It is a company which was built upon the foundations of a strong work ethic, environmental stewardship, and a sense of family, ideals which are still embraced by the over sixty team members comprising the G.W. Tatro Team.

The company prides itself with its unique Vermont flavor and a willingness to tackle projects which may be considered too difficult by others.

Whether it is the replacement sewer line under the environmentally sensitive Winooski River inlet to Lake Champlain or the complete construction of a new ski area as in Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.

G.W. Tatro has a proven history of not only being able to undertake complex projects but to ensure their effective and satisfactory completion.
